Hello and happy Friday

This week we have been making our own minibeast books.

In Maths, we have been recapping our knowledge of patterns including doubles.

In RE, we have been learning about parables. This week we explored The Parable of Leaven.  We compared bread and looked at how important yeast is to making bread.

We had a great afternoon at St Paul’s for our EYFS federation sports day.

 

Monday – school trip to Godstone farm- Please ensure they have a hat, suncream applied and lunch in a backpack.

We have a box in the classroom for any finished library books, so please return when finished.

Next week is transition week – children will spend time in year 1 with their new teacher.  (pick up and drop off from Sapphire)

This week, we have been super busy in many areas.

 

We have continued to learn about minibeasts.

Lots of practice counting to 20, we need some help on our teen numbers.

In English, we concluded with some writing about the animals.

In RE, we learnt about the parable. The lost sheep.

 

Thursday – PE kit needed.

Friday – PE kit needed – Please ensure they have a plain white t-shirt. Plus a packed lunch as we are spending the afternoon at St Pauls.

 

Reminder:

Class photograph will be tomorrow. Full school uniform to be worn: blazer, tie, shirt.

Children to bring in p.e kit to change into.

This week we have begun our new story ‘ What the ladybird heard’

 

In Maths, we have begun to use rekenreks to help us with subtracting.

 

We have made treasure maps, made pirate ships and lots more

Book bags in school every day.

Please sign when you have read.

Homework for this term has been sent home.

Thursday – Class Photos please ensure children are in full uniform.

Happy Friday and happy Half term,

We’ve had a great last week of the term.

We concluded our power of reading work with our water Day and lots of fun was had by all.

 

 

In Maths, we have been exploring 2d shapes and identifying the properties of these shapes.

 

In RE, we concluded our unit on Stories from Different faiths. Today, we listened to the story …….

 

We hope you have a restful half term break and looking forward to the final term of the year.

Next term, we will be looking at animals and minibeasts.
