This week, we continued our text Astro Girl and looked at comparing our favourite food. We were also able to try space food.

We learnt all about asteroids and moon craters.

 

We have had some great learning during free choice learning,

 

In RE, we made our own Easter Gardens.

We finished off with a trip to West Kingsdown Library.

Please do read at home and sign when read. Book bags should be in school daily.

Can any outstanding homework been brought in by Wednesday please. Thank you for your support.

 

Next term, we will be looking at spring and the seaside.

Our space trip  is scheduled for Wednesday 26th April.

Thursday – PE please wear PE KIT to school

Friday – show and share . We will be sharing an Easter song at 2:35 followed by opportunity to look at their journals.

We have had a jammed packed week of space activities.  We dressed as astronauts as well as finding out and leaning all about the constellations.

We wrote about Astrid from our story ‘Astro Girl’

In Maths, we have been learning all about doubles.

 

Friday, we enjoyed a science day with St Pauls.

Please can we ask the children to bring in a family favourite food to share in class.

This is linked to our class text and would like the children to be able to share with others what they like to eat at home. This could be savory or sweet.  If able to, could you list any allergens. NO nuts please.

This week, we have been busy making rockets and planets in our free choice learning time.

We have explored the different ways to make 7.

 

In PE, we continued our dance unit with Miss Bracken.

In RE,  We listened to the Easter story and remembered how On Easter Saturday Jesus was placed in a tomb.

Each week, we learn a traditional tale- this week we have been learning all about The Enormous Turnip- can they retell the story to you?

Monday – wear red for Red Nose Day and bring in a £1

Please can each children bring in a Tupperware/plastic container for our Easter Gardens.

Also, we are still collecting shoe boxes.

The children have been very busy with their creations and it seems our supply of junk modelling has run out.

This could include bottles, egg boxes, boxes, cardboard tubes.

 

Also, please can ALL children bring in a Tupperware/ plastic container for an Easter Garden we will be making in the next two weeks.

Have fun in the snow – could you build a space rocket? or an Astronaut? You could draw a picture and write a sentence about what you built.

 

Please spend some time on Mathseeds; This week we are finding different ways to make 7. using cubes/cars / teddies can you find the ways to make 7

such as 6+1 , 5+2 etc. If able they could have a go at writing the number sentence.

Please practice sounds, especially focusing on sh, ch, th, ng and nk.

This week, we celebrated with ourbook week; looking at The lion and the Mouse.

           

 

The Lion came to visit and we did some great Art and lovely writing which was on show at the Exhibition.

 

In Maths, we explored finding 1 more and 1 less, we found ways to make the octoblock and did some great number practice.

 

In RE, we explored the Easter story and why Christians eat Hot Cross Buns .

 

Some great learning during Free Choice Learning.

Home-learning has been set in Homework book- Thank you for those art projects which have come in.

 

Wednesday – School Trip to the Planetarium see letter.   Packed lunch and water bottle in a back pack which they will be carrying around for the day, please ensure they have a coat.

Thursday – Please wear PE kit, please can we ask that trainers have velcro or elasticated laces. They have access to outside and need to be able to independently change their shoes.
