Friday 25th March 2022

Hello and happy Friday,

This we have continued reading our text ‘Astro Girl’ where we enjoyed tasting space food. We’ve also had lots of fun making cookies like Astrid did.

 

In Maths, we have been looking at the composition of 8. (exploring the different ways to make 8)

In RE, we learnt about the significance of the cross in their Easter Gardens. We enjoyed making our Easter Garden’s. Thank you so much for the contributions.

Please can we make sure children are wearing Black Shoes and not boots or trainers.

Monday- Please come to school in PE kit.

Please as the weather gets warmer can we ask that all jumpers and cardigans are named.

Friday – Last Day of term.

 

 

Please can you find out a fact about one or more of the planets and write a sentence about what you have found out.

A sheet is coming home.

MathsSeeds subscription needs renewing so have sent home  a sheet.

Friday 18th March 2022

Hello and happy Friday,

 

This week we have enjoyed sharing our shrine boxes with our friends. So thank -you for bringing them in to share.

We will continue to work through sharing the boxes into next week.

 

In Power of Reading, we have continued our story Astro Girl, where we have written our own questions to ask an astronaut.

In Maths, we have explored the different ways to make 6,7 and 8. We also looked at ordering numbers to 10.

 

We continued exploring space and the constellations and completed a sewing, which has made a display.

 

 

Please if you are able to bring in a container for our Easter Gardens.

 

Monday – PE please come to school in PE kit.

Wednesday and Thursday are parent consultations; these will take place in the  KS2 school Hall.

 

Please do practice red and green words.  You make enjoy this game.

Please complete the number 7 sheet, we have noticed this is a number we need to practice to form correctly. This is coming home as a sheet too.

Astrid (from our book)  enjoys making cookies, can you make cookies and add any photos to Google Classroom.

We will look forward to seeing them.

Plastic containers needed.

We would like if possible for all the children to come into school with a plastic take-away c0ntainer or Ice-cream container.

We will be making an Easter Garden. If they have any toy figures they want to bring in to add to their garden. Please do bring them in.

In RE, we are taste testing and identifying the cross on Hot Cross Buns.

Friday 11th March 2022

Hello and happy Friday.

 

This week, we have been continuing with our book ‘Astro Girl’. This week we wrote sentences about Astrid and began to discuss what we know about space and what we want to find out. Next week we are looking at constellations  which we will be sewing.

In Maths, we looked at measuring and finding things; longer, shorter and taller. We have enjoyed comparing our heights.

We have made a Shrine Box- please do look inside.

Today was science Day. We focused on growing.  We planted 5 different seeds and will watch to see what happens.
 

 

Please bring in your shrine box filled with special objects, photos and pictures by Monday.

Please spend 10-15 mins on MathsSeeds.

 

Monday – PE – please come dressed in your PE Kit.

Please return your shrine box with your special items ready to share.

Friday- Red Nose Day – Please wear something red and bring in £1.

What a fun-filled week we’ve had.

This week we have started to read our new text ‘Astro Girl’ and began to explore what we know about the main character Astrid.

In Maths, we have explored more and fewer than.

On shrove Tuesday we looked at why we have pancakes, we then got to make our own pancakes.

For World Book day, we enjoyed listening to different stories. We attended different workshops and took part in a range of fun activities.

 

 

 

Please can they bring in or take a photo of something that is special to them. This is to link to our text.

Can your child  talk about the object?

” What is special to you and why?”

Please also spend 10-15 minutes on Mathseeds.

Please can homework folders please be returned.

 

If you haven’t sent in- can we have a shoe box and if you are able to any resources such as wrapping paper and stickers for us to decorate them. Thank you.

Shrine Boxes

Thank you so much for all the boxes brought in.

Next week  Sapphire class will be decorating their  boxes.

If the children would like to bring things in to decorate their boxes with that would be great. It could be wrapping paper, stickers, sequins, buttons etc.
