Here are some photo’s from last weeks Muddy Mahem. Everyone had a great time.

This week, we have enjoyed doing some role play linked to Owl Babies. We went on an autumn walk and we have made nests.

Today we celebrated Harvest with the whole School, we sang ‘Dingle Dangle Scarecrow’

In RWI, we learnt the sounds; t,i,n,p and go and have started to read the words dad, mat, mad and sat.

In Maths, we looked at subitising ( recognising quantities with counting and representing numbers 1,2 and 3.

 

Please share their library book and reading book.

Can they practice their sound cards and have a go at using them to make the words; at,sat,mat, mad ,dad and sad.

We have been looking at autumn, if you wish to you could go on an autumn walk and bring into class some leaves, pine cones etc.

This week, we have started Phonics, the children will be coming home with a wordless book to read to you and a phonic wallet to practice. Please sign when your child has read.

We have continued listening to our story Owl Babies and we have drawn pictures of our families. Thank you, to those who sent in photos to share.

Please can we ask that shoes are named.

No Bows in hair.

Blazers (if you have one) should be brought into school every day.

This week we have started to sit for longer on the carpet. We are learning the routines of the day.

 

We have been busy in our choosing time.

 

 

 

Thank -you for sharing your child’s reading book with them. They have been changed, next week we will be introducing letter sounds ; m,a,s,d and t using read write inc.

 

What is RWI? – Please watch this video. 

Please bring in a photo of their family to talk about. If they are unsure, any prompts on the back of the photograph would be helpful.

Please share their reading books with them and sign their contact book.

Please can we ask that all children have waterproofs (Labelled ) for messy play and mud kitchen time. These should be left in school with their wellies.

Can we also ask that shoes are named along with lunch boxes and water bottles.

No school on Monday.

Friday is  Jeans for Jeans Day for £1 , please bring a change of clothes for Tough Mudder.

can we ask that all children come to school in full uniform (including blazers if you have them)

On Thursday, 3-3.30pm, there will be an exhibition in the KS2 hall of the children’s art inspired by our school text ‘Journey’. Please come along and have a look!

P.E lessons will start after half term and will be on a Monday..

Children will be able to come into school in their P.E kit.

A post will be put up to remind you when it starts and which day it will be.

Hello, and welcome

 

This week, we have been impressed with how well the children have settled into Sapphire Class.

They have been learning the routines of the class and getting to know where things belong.  We have sat for some ‘Fred Games’ to prepare us for phonics and we have enjoyed singing some number songs.

 

Next week: We will begin our baseline assessments and continuing to get to know the children.

Please can ALL items be labelled this includes, shoes, water bottles and ALL pieces of clothing.

This week we have had a number of blazers with no name in.

We are already missing Bailey’s blazer whose name was labelled. Please could you check at home.

 

As mentioned all children need the following to remain in school:

Named Welly boots.

Named 2 piece waterproofs

Change of clothes in a named drawstring bag. ( Incase of toilet accidents/ wet weather)

 

Please can book-bags be brought into school daily.
Your child has been given a story-book to share with you. Please sign when they have ‘read’ with you and a new book will be given. This is a good opportunity to get them to tell the story using the pictures, predict what will happen and learn how to turn the pages.
