Happy Thursday and Happy Half term.

This week, we have enjoyed a week of Jubilee celebrations as well as lots of fun Maths activities for Maths week.

We baked cakes with Mrs Lopez and enjoyed making flags, bunting and crowns.

 

For Maths week, we have explored patterns and shapes and looked at capacity. On Thursday, we enjoyed a maths workshop.

 

A Jubilee Home-learning task has been set, see above post.  Please upload and send into school by 6th June.

Monday – please wear PE kit to school.

Please continue to send in book bags on a daily basis.

Hello and happy Friday.

 

This week, we have continued our work on Handa Surprise and the children have made some great story maps.  Some children then went on to make their own memory maps.

In Maths, we have been exploring counting up to 20 and beyond. They have been counting out cubes, leaves, books and pasta. Some very impressive  counting.

 

This week we welcomed Miss Lopez into Sapphire Class a Teach-First Student teacher who will be with here with until July.  The children have been very welcoming  and have showed Miss Lopez how fantastic they all are.

Well done to all those children who made their animal masks for their home-learning, they were very creative.

In class, we have been practicing counting higher numbers. This weeks task, can you collect objects around the home to count and label with the correct number.

This week, we have continued to work on our book Handa’s Surprise. We continued making our own animal fact books. We have enjoyed using the props in the classroom to retell the story.

 

In Maths we have been exploring weight and capacity. We have used a balance to compare the weight of 2 or more objects.

 

We had some great animal actions to our song for Homework.

 

Don’t forget 3 House points are awarded for Home-Learning completed.

(Which goes towards the winning house own clothes Day.)

Monday – PE , please come to school in PE Kit.

This week we have continued looking at the Story Handa’s Surprise and we have been writing our own animal fact books.

In Maths, we have been sorting different objects and identifying the odd one out.  We have worked hard on identifying why it is the odd one out. Ask us if we can identify some odd and even numbers.

 

we also had a great visit from the RNLI to talk about beach and water safety, where we asked lots of  great questions.
